Should You Go On a 1000 Calorie Diet

By Ken Wilssens There is an endless array of diets that people are using to lose weight today. One of these diets includes the 1000-Calorie diet. Everyone knows that if you cut back on the number of calories that you take in during the day there is a better chance that you will begin to lose weight. However, there are some diets that are not as safe as you might think. It has been found that cutting back your diet to 1000 calories a day can be quite drastic and for some people it could be dangerous. It is recommended that you should only sue this diet if you wish to lose a few pounds in a short period of time. It is not recommended for a large amount of weight loss. If you wish to use the 1000-calorie diet to lose weight then you should be very aware of what are the best and worst foods to eat. Eating the wrong foods will result in hunger and binge eating could result. Sticking to a diet such as the 1000-calorie diet is not a good idea. You must keep in mind that if you lead a busy life and you only take in 1000 calories there is a chance that you are not getting the proper of amount of nutrients and vitamins needed to sustain a healthy lifestyle. As a result people who are limiting the number of calories that take into their body during a twenty-four hour period could be putting themselves at risk for illness. If you stay on this diet then you body will go into what has been referred to as famine mode. This means that over a period of time you will not be able to eat a large amount of food and you could end up being hungry all the time and then binge eating to the point that you make yourself sick. If you are considering the 1000-calorie diet then you should consult your doctor or another trained medical professional to ensure that it is safe for you. Diets for Weight Loss

By Jean Lam After the Christmas and New Years holidays, it seems that most people return from their resting places with a few more pounds on, and who am I to judge them? If I myself ate to the verge of exploding, and drank as if every single beverage was running out. It is perfectly understandable why people gain some weight during these days, however it is also perfectly understandable that people want to lose those very pounds by the time the New Year has begun, I mean, that is why the New Years resolutions are for right? You will notice that most of the people that actually wrote their New Year Resolution wrote this line: To lose some weight before summer. Why? Because they are probably planning to attend the beach, and every single person alive wants to look great in a bathing suit. This is where those popular and famous diets for weight loss come into action; there are many eating routines which claim to make you lose dozens of pounds just by eating whatever you want, but if that was the case, everyone would be perfectly fit, dont you agree? The truth behind diets for weight loss is that they consist of a perfectly balanced intake of nutrients, which is why they claim that you can eat whatever it is that you want, given that you do not consume more than you should (which sometimes may be just a small bite). Diets for weight loss are not poorly developed, at least not all of them, however if you are truly aiming to reach your weight loss goal, then you should compliment that weight loss diet with an exercise routine that may allow you to burn the excessive amount of fat that you have been holding in your body for the last few months or years. People who watch and manage what they eat, are not only benefited by the weight loss bonuses, they are also benefited from a healthier kind of life, and a lower risk of heart problems. Here is what you should do when following a weight loss procedure: First of all you will need to keep those calories under control, no more than 1000 per day, and you will also need to practice an exercise routine; run until you get tired, then walk, once you recover start running again and repeat the process for 1 hour or 2, this is called a cardiovascular exercise routine, and it is the fastest method for burning fat. A Look Into Egyptian Religion

By Kadence Buchanan By far, the ancient Egyptian culture represents one of the least understood and most interesting facets of beliefs throughout human history. In this article, we’ll give you a basic idea of what modern day man knows about what the ancient Egyptians put their faith in. Our understanding of Egyptian religion is far from complete. Many of the things that we know about their religion seem incomplete; we seem to have found alternate gods they’ve worshipped that served the same purposes, as well as conflicting stories about what they believed about how the world was formed. While our knowledge is somewhat lacking, we’ll focus on what we do know. Many researchers feel that one of the most basic forms of religious identity that the Egyptians performed was the worship of animals. The tribes of Egypt that existed pre-dynasty often worshipped different animals as gods that represented their feelings of which animal was in most relation to their way of life. Many of these gods were shown in pictures and writings to have an animal head on a human body, with an example being Ophois, the god of war, who had a wolf’s head. Some gods were identified with multiple animals, as well, such as Thoth, who was associated with the ibis, the baboon, and the moon. The creationist beliefs of the Egyptians varied from tribe to tribe. Some felt that the god Khnum had built the world on a potter’s wheel, while others felt that the existence of the universe was due to the spiritual thought of the god Ptah. Organized religion found its way into Egypt at around 3200 BC, when Egypt became organized as a state. Many of the gods that the ruling class were in favor of received the most acclaim throughout the land, with the god Amon receiving much more acclaim than he had previously. The Egyptian religious experience was unique in that over time, the ruling class had the power to directly influence which gods received the most praise. As time changed, different gods came into the limelight. Any way you put it, we still don’t have a concrete knowledge of the beliefs held by these ancient peoples. Hopefully, time and exploration can help us to clear up many of the difficult questions posed by Egyptian religion. Growing Tomatoes Organically

By Chip Phelan Tomato Seeds Vs. Tomato Seedlings? Whether you start your own tomato seeds or buy tomato seedlings, growing them organically will produce healthier plants and better tasting tomatoes. Tomatoes are one of the most popular summer crops grown in the U.S. High in vitamins and minerals, tomatoes are a healthy and delicious addition to any back yard garden. Tomatoes are native to the tropical areas of Central and South America, where they grow as perennials. However, in most of the United States tomatoes are grown as annuals. In the southern states they can be grown directly from seeds planted in the ground, but in the north they must be started indoors seven to ten weeks before the last frost in your area, and then transplanted to the garden as seedlings. If you dont have the time or space to start your own tomatoes indoors, tomato seedlings are available almost everywhere at planting time. Tomato seedlings should not be transplanted outside until nighttime temperatures are above 50F, unless you have a means of protecting them if the temperature drops. Determinate Tomatoes Vs. Indeterminate Tomatoes Determinate tomatoes are the bush type. They need less staking and are the better choice for growing in containers. I have had great success growing bush type tomatoes in containers of straight organic compost with just some PH adjustment. All tomatoes prefer a slightly acidic to neutral soil (6.0 7.0). Determinate tomatoes set all their fruit and then ripen all at once. For this reason determinate tomatoes are also a good choice for canning, especially if you have a small crop. Indeterminate Tomatoes are the vine type. This type of tomato continues to make new fruit right up until the first frost, and is a good choice if you want fresh tomatoes for the entire season (I suggest growing some of both types). Indeterminate tomatoes can be left to sprawl on the ground, but this makes them harder to harvest and more susceptible to rotting from contact with the ground. For this reason most gardeners use some method of support to keep their tomatoes growing in a more orderly fashion. Wire cages are the simplest method of supporting tomato plants. They come pre-made in varying sizes or can be made from fencing and can contain a plant without the need for training (pinching back the suckers that occur between each leaf and stem junction. These turn into additional stems.) Hint: If you make you own cages, use a mesh large enough to get your hand through. Indeterminate tomatoes may also be staked and trained to have only one stem, or they can be grown along a trellis and trained to have two or three stems. These two methods also require that you tie the tomato stems to the supports as they continue to grow. While training tomatoes is more work, by limiting the number of stems and therefore the number of tomatoes, the resulting fruit will be bigger and juicer (for that one slice tomato sandwich). Caging however will save you time and produce ample amounts of tomatoes that are superior to what youll find in the supermarket. Hybrid Tomatoes Vs. Heirloom Tomatoes Heirloom tomatoes have not been altered and will produce fertile seeds that can be saved and grown to produce the same fruit in following years. Hybrid tomatoes will have sterile seeds or seeds that will produce one of the original varieties that made up the hybrid in the first place. I personally believe it is important to preserve heirloom varieties. Also, by saving seeds and replanting them, the resulting plants will become more adapted to your specific climate and soil type. Hybrid tomatoes are acceptable to the organic gardener, provided they have not been genetically altered. Many hybrid types of tomato are resistant to disease and or insects. The VFN indication on plant labels refers to resistance to Verticillium Wilt, Fusarium Wilt and Nematodes respectively. Whether you choose to grow heirloom varieties or hybrids, good organic gardening practices, will lessen the chances your plants will succumb to insects or disease. The use of plenty of rich organic compost, companion planting with herbs and flowers, generous mulching and regular watering, will all enhances your plants overall health and productivity. Tips on Growing Organic Tomatoes As with all plants, tomatoes benefit from the generous use of organic compost added to the soil. Use plenty of mulch, not only to conserve water and hold down weeds, but also to minimize contact with soil born disease. (I prefer natural mulch to plastic. I use seaweed but leaves and glass clippings work well also) When planting seedlings, dont loosen roots as you would with some transplants. Remove lower leaves and plant so only the top leaves are above the ground. If plants are very leggy, they can be planted on their side with the top turned gently upright to protrude from the soil. Water plants regularly in early morning preferably. Watering should be done at ground level rather than spraying the leaves. Apply fish emulsion periodically to organically supply trace minerals that contribute to healthy plants. Top dress with more compost midway through the season Companion plant with basil, dill or borage to attract beneficial wasps whose parasitic larvae feed on hornworms. Good luck with your organic tomatoes. If you havent grown them before your in for a treat! Connecting Through Touch - Physical and Beyond

By Michael Twomey From my experience there are many ways to touch someone because what you are really doing is touching emotions :) So the next time you are interacting with someone or on a date you can play with some of these concepts and ideas and make them helpful habits. * Physical Touching : So you can be physical and can go from a handshake to a touch on the wrist. Or perhaps a light hand on their shoulder. Progressing to a more intimate touch such as a hand massage during a palm read. Also, for men you can gently guide your date through doorways by gently placing your hand on the small of her back. I often recommend that my clients learn massage, take some basic dance classes or take up yoga or martial arts so that they become more comfortable with their own bodies and with touch. And if you are a woman who wants your date to show you more affection then you can apply these concepts by making it easier for your date to touch you. You can show that you enjoy their touch so they will have the courage to show you more affection. Women who are not interested send out different signals to show this. Sometimes women can be more clear and men can learn to pay closer attention. This is often part of what I do for people. I help them to send out clearer signals of what they want from other people and from the world. Do your best to Calibrate ( notice ) the response of the person and progress from there. Also, whenever they laugh, smile or are looking into your eyes intently you should Anchor this with a touch, a look and/or a sound. For instance it is natural to smile at someone when they smile at you with a warm and genuine smile. An Anchor is a term from Hypnosis and Psychology that triggers certain emotions. The trigger can be physical, or something you hear or see, smell, taste, etc. Perhaps you can remember the song that was playing during your first slow dance. Maybe you can recall the scent of the first person you kissed or the first person who kissed you. In order for any of these concepts and techniques to work well you must be comfortable with physical touching and eye contact and feeling emotions so that your date will feel at ease. If you feel DIS-comfort then your date will feel UN-easy so you need to lead by example. The good news is that this is a form of Rapport and you just need to adjust your own state of mind and comfort level. So now that you are more comfortable with touching and talking with someone, they will follow your lead and grow more comfortable, too. There are also other ways to touch beyond physical and here are some of them : * Tonal Touching : You can use your Voice to touch someone. Whether on the phone or live in person. Imagine being able to bathe a person in the sound waves of your voice. Before I became a Professional Hypnotist I was a Musician and so in both careers I have learned the value of training your voice and using it well. * Visual Touching : You can shower someone with kisses, caresses, the sound of your voice AND the glow of your Eyes allowing them to feel special. I hope you enjoyed reading this and that this information has inspired you and helped you to improve your social life. This article is very basic and to learn more you can contact me. TENS Machine - Modern Natural Pain Relief

By Kerris Samson The TENS machine has now become a popular option for people who wish to relieve the pain that they are feeling, especially those who suffer from persistent or chronic pain. Although there have been many studies carried out as to the effective ness of this machine in which some it concludes that they do seem to help alleviate pain for some people, but in others it does not. Therefore further research does need to be carried out to clarify the role of this machine in modern day medicine and its effectiveness. It however seems the TENS machine does seem popular in helping to deal with various painful conditions and the popularity of the machine would certainly imply that seem effective in helping to reduce pain that people are feeling. However, the amount of pain relief that is provided by the machine is likely to vary from patient to patient, even those who are being treated for the same condition. A TENS (Transcutaneous which means through the skin) machine works by sending small electrical pulses through the body via electrodes placed on the skin. It is thought that TENS machine affects the way that pain signals are sent to the brain. All pain signals that the brain receives are sent via the nerves and the spine of a persons body and therefore if the pain signals can be blocked then the brain is likely to receive fewer signals from where the pain source originates from, which results in the patient feeling less pain. It is thought that a TENS machine works in two ways. Firstly, when the machine is set on a high pulse rate of 90-130Hz it will trigger the pain gate to close and this in turn is thought to block the pain nerve path to the brain and this seems to be the normal use for this machine. However, if the machine was set on a low pulse rate say 2-5Hz it will stimulate the patients body into making its own pain easing chemicals called endorphins. They act in a similar way to morphine by blocking the pain signals to the brain. Normally a TENS machine is mainly used by someone to help reduce pain they are suffering from problems in muscles, joints or nerves rather than for chest, head or abdominal pains. One of the benefits that many people are finding from using such a machine is that unlike taking medication there are virtually no side effects. However, it must be stressed that certain people such as those who are not the sure what the cause of pain is or it has not been diagnosed by a doctor, a pregnant woman (unless it has the doctor has specifically advised its use), people with pacemakers and people who suffer from epilepsy or certain forms of heart disease. A TENS machine is best used only on the advice of your doctor or other health professional. This machine is certainly not suitable to deal with all types of pain or all types of conditions. Remember at all times when you are using this machine to not only follow the doctors instructions, but also those provided by the manufacturer of the machine. Which Country is that Cell Tower Located in Anyway?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=L._Winslow]L. Winslow It appears that 3-G wireless has won the game as the new way that cell phones communicate. Although today there is a serious problem as many times the cell tower is in a different state or even a different country than the caller with the cell phone. This causes a huge problem as in who collects the tax revenue? Along the Canadian border there are many cell towers and they transmit calls coming from the United States, the person using a cell phone is charged a roaming charge, but it is unfair to the cell phone subscriber to receive charges for international phone call or taxes from both countries. The same problem occurs along the Mexican border of the United States where property is cheaper thus cell tower operators have put the cell tower in Mexico in order to avoid taxes and receive a faster return on investment. So far state agencies have not complained but in the future they will. Right now many state governments are experiencing a windfall in collected tax revenue from increased fuel costs, but when that ends, these states will be looking to collect money from other sources and you can bet they will want their tax revenue from money generated from cell towers no matter what country the cell tower is actually located in. Who owns the airwaves and who owns the airspace, if the signal is traveling over the ground then does that state or jurisdiction apply also to the tax revenue collected? In the future these court cases may get very large and change the way that cell phone charges come on your cell phone bill. L. Discover the Secrets of Effective Marketing

By Michael Fleischner The discipline of marketing can often be complex and confusing. As a marketing veteran, I have seen countless marketing professionals get hung up on various aspects of marketing which have little impact on actual marketing results. Based on my experience, there are four critical elements to an effective marketing campaign. Whether youre looking to improve your search engine marketing results, internet marketing, or marketing in general, be sure to follow these simple guidelines which I refer to as the A.T.O.M approach. A.T.O.M Audience, Timing, Offer, Message 1. Know Your Audience. No one can effectively market, communicate, or sell without knowing their audience or what motivates them to buy. Is your potential customer male or female? Young or old? A first time buyer or frequent purchaser? Are they the final decision maker? Do they have preferences for a particular product, service, or delivery method? The more you know about your audience, the more targeted and relevant your marketing can be. 2. Timing is Everything. Even with the most convincing marketing campaign, prospects will have no interest in your product or service if you arent communicating to them at the right time. Be sure your marketing message is in front of prospects when theyre ready to buy. This could be at a particular time of year or perhaps prior to a life event. 3. Finding the Right Offer. In direct marketing, experts say that results are 40% dependant on your list, 40% on the offer, and 20% on your creative. The same is true for internet marketing, search engine marketing, and the like. Test your offers and find the one that out performs all the others. This offer should continually be tested and refined to improve your results. 4. Its all about the Messaging. If you know your audience well enough, you should be able to craft a message that addresses their needs and differentiates your product or service from the competition. Additionally, be sure to stress benefits over features. This will give your audience a reason to read, try, and buy. The next time you are conducting a marketing campaign, use the A.T.O.M. approach. Knowing your audience, ensuring that you reach them when theyre ready to buy, experimenting to find the most productive offer, and communicating to them productively, are essential for any marketing campaign to deliver results. Habits that Attract Women

By Marcus Peterson Women are more mindful about human values, so a man has to apply a different set of rules to attract them. A man’s physique, character, and stamina are some of the special qualities that women seek. Women judge a man not only on the basis of his physical attributes, but also considering his personality, intelligence, and behavior. Conversation is an important criterion. If you want to speak to a woman, try to start by saying something related to her. During the conversation, if her body is turned away from you, break up the conversation as soon as possible. If she is attentive and keeps her face towards you, it means she is enjoying your company. Be cautious about the duration and content of your speech. More questioning, either personal or official, may intimidate or affront her. If you have nothing to say, ask about her hobbies, work, and interests. Caring and listening are two important habits that attract a woman. A man’s physical appearance, including his clean nails, hands, and hair, are also of immense significance. It is said that a man is attracted through his eyes and a woman through her ears. Create the impression that you care about her and her ideas. Always keep a clear mind and unbiased heart that are able to listen carefully and respond to her with full respect and regard. During the first few days of meeting, make very little contact with her and try to keep your e-mails short and sweet, inspiring a sense of mystery about you. Honesty and sincerity also determine the character of men and the impact they create on women. Be careful about your promises; don’t make any idle promises that you have no intention of keeping. Instill the feeling that you are a helpful partner through some of the easy-to-do tricks such as holding the door and welcoming and pleasing her friends. Your overall effort should be to prove to her that you are different from the average man she might have come across, that you have something special in you. Depression Glass Patterns

By Murray Hughes Collectors of Depression Glass find not only its beautiful colors fascinating, but its patterns, as well. With many glass producers making this type of glass, as you can imagine, many patterns resulted, creating a wide array of pretty, practical, and inexpensive glassware affordable to every American household in that lean era of history and making Depression Glass one of the most collectible items today. Of the many glass manufacturers that produced Depression Glass, seven of them became major players in the field, creating a total of 92 designs. Below youll find some history, some trivia, some folklore, and some interesting characteristics about several of these designs. Pattern: Cameo This Depression Glass design, sometimes referred to as Ballerina or Dancing Girl, gets its name from the tiny dancer found on all its pieces. Some claim the Hocking Glass Company that manufactured Cameo glass created the pattern to honor the legendary modern dancer of the 1920s, Isadora Duncan, who tragically died when her long trailing scarf, of which shed made her personal trademark, choked her to death when it wrapped around the wheel of her moving Bugatti roadster. Duncan died in 1927, and the Cameo pattern came into being in 1930, continuing to be produced until 1934, so the story could very well be true. Regardless of the inspiration for this pattern of Depression Glass, it continues as a much sought-after design. Hocking made most Cameo glass in green, but pink, yellow, and more rarely crystal, which can occasionally still be found. Pattern: Avocado First produced in 1923, the Avocado or Sweet Pear pattern claims its fame for being the very first ‘true’ Depression Glass design. Made by the Indiana Glass Company, Avocado pieces in the form of pitchers prove to be the most difficult to find, possibly because of this patterns age. Indiana continued manufacturing Avocado for 10 years, until the company retired this Art Nouveau-type design in 1933. Pattern: Royal Lace The Hazel-Atlas Glass Company began producing Royal Lace during 1934 as a set consisting of 28 pieces. Today, Royal Lace holds the honor of being some of the costliest Depression glass that collectors covet. Hazel-Atlas manufactured Royal Lace in crystal (clear) and in five colors: green, yellow, pink, blue, and burgundy. The most desirable color consistently proves to be the blue, called Ritz Blue by the company, which actually came about as an economic accident. When General Mills ended a deal with Hazel-Atlas using blue-colored glass in a Shirley Temple promotional campaign in 1936, Hazel-Atlas simply poured the leftover vats of molten blue glass into its existing Royal Lace molds to avoid wasting it. An instant success resulted. Blue Royal Lace Depression Glass reigns to this day as 1 of the most sought after and is now 1 of the most expensive of all the other Depression Glass patterns. These samplings of interesting Depression Glass trivia make collecting it all that more appealing. After all, how many other pieces of glassware can be found in peoples homes that come with a ready-made story at least those people in the median income range (Were not talking Tiffany or Lalique here!)? And these have been gleaned from a mere sampling of the plethora of Depression Glass designs that have survived over the years. Imagine what stories can be found! The next time you gaze at that lovely piece of Depression glass resting in the window of your favorite antique dealer or if youre lucky sitting on a dusty shelf at a flea market just waiting for you to discover it, remember: Whatever pattern it is, a good chance exists that it, too, will have a fascinating history. So take a chance. Buy it!
